On half-day trade today for Christmas Eve, Hong Kong bourse opened higher. The HSI opened 28 points or 0.1% higher at 19,911; the HSCEI opened 11 points or 0.2% higher at 7,225; and the HSTECH opened 10 points or 0.2% higher at 4,468.

Ant mounted structural shakeup, setting up Digital Payment Business Group and Alipay Business Group. BABA-W (09988.HK) opened 1.6% higher at $82.3. Mainland China will speed up the introduction of compliance guidelines on charging behavior of network trading platforms, with a plan to formulate supervision and management measures for live broadcasting e-commerce. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) inched up 0.1%. EAST BUY (01797.HK) gained 1%. Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) grew 0.7% and 0.9% respectively after the US initiated a “Section 301 Investigations” into China's advanced process chip industry.

As to other techs, TENCENT (00700.HK) edged up 0.2% at $421. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK), XIAOMI-W (01810.HK), JD-SW (09618.HK) and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) added 0.3%-0.8%. NTES-S (09999.HK) shed 0.9%. EV maker BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) faded 1.3%.
