Southbound Capital Net Inflow $910B+ YTD, Setting New Record

As of yesterday (August 12), the cumulative net inflow of southbound capital so far this year has exceeded $910 billion, setting a new historical record for annual net inflow scale, surpassing last year's total net inflow of $807.869 billion, based on Wind data. This shored up the HSI by over 24% during the period, and the HSTECH to accumulate a gain of over 21%.

In terms of individual stocks, southbound capital holdings in TENCENT (00700.HK) topped $560 billion, while holdings in CCB (00939.HK), CHINA MOBILE (00941.HK), ICBC (01398.HK), and XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) all exceled $200 billion. Holdings in BABA-W (09988.HK), CNOOC (00883.HK), HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK), SMIC (00981.HK), MEITUAN-W (03690.HK), and BANK OF CHINA (03988.HK) all crossed $110 billion.
